UAE- Acme Intralog, a leading provider of warehousing solutions in the Middle East, is set to unveil cutting-edge AI, automation, and robotic warehousing solutions tailored for the food and beverage industry at Gulfood Manufacturing 2023, from November 7th to 9th, 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
In an interview with TradeArabia, Navin Narayan, CEO of Acme Intralog, emphasized the growing importance of technology in the Middle East’s food industry.
“With the focus on food security and the vision to be self-reliant, the Middle East has been seeing large investments in food production using the latest technologies as well as higher capacities being built up,” he stated.
Traditional food distributor warehouses have historically relied on high SKU density and manual sorting. However, as production-linked warehouses become more prevalent, Acme Intralog’s automation solutions, powered by AI and robotics, are poised to enhance space utilization storage capacity and ensure a streamlined supply chain with minimal bottlenecks.
Acme Intralog has already made significant strides in the region, collaborating with supermarket chains to implement push-tray-sorter solutions that can efficiently sort over 8,000 trays of fruits and vegetables per hour for various store shelves in the UAE.
Furthermore, the company has established an innovative distribution center with over 40,000 pallet locations for one of the largest regional dairy manufacturers in Jeddah. This facility features a high-density automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) for pallets, along with an automated truck unloading and warehouse management system (WMS) storage solution.
Thanks to this system, the customer’s facility can unload 32 pallets from their customized trucks into the automated warehouse in under three minutes, with minimal human intervention.
At a rate of approximately 160 pallets per hour, the AS/RS system significantly enhances efficiency. Acme Intralog recently completed a robotic end-of-line solution for the same customer in Riyadh, featuring 12 high-speed palletization zones and rail-guided vehicles capable of handling up to 220 pallets per hour.
Gulfood Manufacturing attendees will experience the critical components of a warehouse automation installation at Acme’s exhibition stand. These components include case and tote conveyors, palletizing robots, and Acme’s Namla, a next-generation radio shuttle that significantly improves pallet storage density for standard pallets of up to 1,500 kg.
In addition to these solutions, Acme will also showcase its stainless steel conveyor portfolio, ideal for the food and beverage sector. The booth will feature a range of automation components from Acme’s partners, including Habasit conveyor belts, pneumatics by Metalwork, Leuze sensors and barcode readers, Schmalz vacuum components, and Axelent machine guarding solutions.
Earlier this year, Acme Intralog partnered with Gausium, a global leader in AI-powered autonomous cleaning and service robots, to introduce a line of advanced robotic cleaning machines in the Middle East.
Visitors to the Acme stand at Gulfood Manufacturing will have the opportunity to witness the efficiency of these cleaning robots while meeting with senior team members to discuss their specific warehousing needs and explore the best solutions.
Acme Intralog’s presence at Gulfood Manufacturing 2023 promises to showcase innovation and technology-driven solutions to revolutionize the food and beverage industry’s warehousing practices in the Middle East. Be sure to visit their booth and witness the future of warehousing in action.
