INDONESIA- Global food processing and commodities trading corporation ADM (Archer Daniels Midland) recently announced an agreement to acquire PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia.
PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia is a subsidiary of Nutreco, founded in 2007, and a leading provider of nutritional and functional solutions for livestock farming in Indonesia.
The company’s state-of-the-art premix production facilities, equipped with full automation solutions and industry 4.0 readiness, have positioned it as a leader in the sector.
Through this acquisition, ADM aims to fortify its presence in the premix and feed additives & ingredients (FA&I) business, strategically aligning itself to cater to the expected market growth and the increasing demand for protein.
The deal includes the acquisition of two key premix production facilities—Pasuruan in Surabaya and Cibitung in Jakarta—along with laboratories, warehouses, and offices spread across Indonesia.
Gerald Wilflingseder, President of ADM’s animal nutrition business in the Asia-Pacific region, emphasized the significance of this acquisition, stating, “This acquisition will complement our regional footprint and will represent a step forward in achieving our vision of leading the animal nutrition industry.”
He further highlighted that the move will enhance ADM’s premix production capabilities, allowing the company to swiftly provide localized solutions and customized services to customers in Indonesia and the broader region.
Upon completion of the acquisition, ADM plans to seamlessly integrate PT Trouw Nutrition Indonesia into its existing operations in Indonesia, opening up new avenues to diversify its portfolio of products and solutions.
Dr. Pierre Domps, General Manager of Animal Nutrition Indonesia at ADM, underscored the company’s commitment to deliver high-quality products and offer a spectrum of services.
He stated, “Our commitment extends beyond products and solutions; we strive to provide a spectrum of services,” emphasizing the provision of customized solutions backed by international technical expertise and support from lab services.
The acquisition signifies ADM’s dedication to becoming a significant player in premixes and FA&I in Indonesia while solidifying its reputation as the preferred partner for customers seeking comprehensive animal nutrition solutions.
The move aligns with ADM’s broader strategy of adapting to market demands, ensuring local production is supported by tailored strategies to meet unique market demands in Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region.
