EUROPE – As the agricultural sector braces for the upcoming European Union (EU) Deforestation Regulation, ADM is taking proactive steps to ensure compliance by introducing fully verified, segregated, and traceable soybean meal and oil.
This innovative approach will be showcased at SPACE 2024, a premier international livestock exhibition in Rennes, France, where ADM’s animal nutrition experts will present these science-based solutions to French producers.
ADM’s initiative comes as the industry awaits the final implementation guidance from the European Commission on the EU Deforestation Regulation.
The regulation is expected to impose stringent requirements on agricultural imports, particularly concerning the traceability and sustainability of deforestation-related commodities.
By offering a fully traceable supply chain, ADM aims to meet the evolving needs of European customers who are increasingly focused on sustainability and regulatory compliance.
The company’s supply chain currently sources soybean meal and oil from North American farmers enrolled in ADM’s re:source™ program, which ensures that products are fully verified and segregated.
ADM is also working to expand these practices to other key regions, piloting soybean crushing and exporting processes that maintain the integrity of traceable and segregated supply chains.
This initiative positions ADM as a leader in sustainable agricultural practices, catering to the growing demand for transparency in the European market.
