USA—Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), a global leader in innovative natural solutions, has been named a winner of the 2024 Sustainability Leadership Award by the Business Intelligence Group (BIG).

This recognition is part of the BIG Sustainability Awards program, which celebrates organizations and individuals demonstrating a profound commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

Alison Taylor, ADM’s Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, expressed her gratitude for the accolade.

“We are honored to be in such great company on this impressive list of sustainability leaders,” Taylor said. “

She explained that sustainability is truly a foundation of purpose and a pillar of ADM’s growth strategy, and this award reflects that commitment.

Sustainable practices and environmental responsibility are integral to our work every day to serve customers across the many value chains in which we operate, and we are proud to leverage our expertise to enrich the quality of life and support a healthier planet.”

This year’s BIG Sustainability Awards program highlighted a global dedication to environmental stewardship and innovative practices.

Russ Fordyce, CEO at BIG, emphasized the evolution of sustainability from a trend to a core business principle.

“Sustainability has evolved from a passing trend to a cornerstone of most forward-thinking companies,” Fordyce stated.

“ADM has put sustainability at the heart of everything it does. We’re inspired by its dedication and excited to showcase the incredible work it’s accomplishing. We are honored to recognize and celebrate all its winners and finalists who are making a significant difference in protecting our environment.”

In alignment with its sustainability goals, ADM recently announced an expansion of its regenerative agriculture program.

The company aims to enroll 3.5 million acres in 2024 and reach 5 million acres globally by 2025. This initiative builds on a successful 2023, which saw participation from over 28,000 growers managing 2.8 million acres and new programs launched in Europe and Latin America.

Additionally, ADM has taken significant steps to align with European Union deforestation regulations. Starting December 30, ADM will offer fully verified, segregated, and traceable soybean meal and oil to meet the new EU requirements.

Earlier this year, ADM introduced the reprogram in North America, providing a fully traceable soybean supply chain. This program enrolled nearly 5,300 farmers across 15 U.S. states, covering more than 4.6 million acres for the 2024 season.
