CHAD – Alapala Group’s subsidiary AXOR has signed a contract with MENA Food Chad to construct the country’s first pasta factory, in a significant move towards improving food security and economic growth in Chad.

This landmark project is expected to be operational by mid-2025 and will have a production capacity of 2,000 kilograms per hour, making MENA Food Chad the sole supplier of locally produced pasta in the country.

Marco Mistroni, CEO of AXOR, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This factory will not only ensure the availability of high-quality pasta products for the people of Chad and neighbouring regions, but will also stimulate local economic growth and employment.”

 The state-of-the-art facility will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and designed to meet international food safety standards, creating numerous jobs and enhancing Chad’s food processing capabilities.

Construction is set to begin in 2024, with the factory expected to be fully operational by mid-2025, marking a significant milestone in Chad’s journey toward food self-sufficiency.
