USA-Anchor Ingredients, a premier specialty ingredients supplier to the food and pet food industries worldwide, has acquired a grain handling facility in Hatton, North Dakota, US, as part of an auction.
The grain storage facility has close to 700,000 bushels of storage with drying capabilities and the strategic move underlines Anchor Ingredients’ dedication to enhancing and guaranteeing its supply chain capabilities to the premium pet food market.
Anchor said the addition of the facility will allow it to expand its pet food ingredient portfolio and processing capabilities.
The grain handling facility’s location is particularly noteworthy, Anchor said, allowing it to provide the company’s farm-level partners with “an efficient, year-round delivery site for their raw materials, ensuring a continuous supply for ingredient processing across Anchor’s network of facilities.”
“We are confident that the addition of the Hatton facility will further streamline our operations and strengthen our ability to support pet food manufacturers throughout the United States,” said Al Yablonski, chief executive officer and co-founder of Anchor Ingredients.
He added that this acquisition aligns perfectly with our growth strategy, and the company looks forward to delivering even greater value to our customers and grower partners.
“This acquisition represents a critical step forward for our company, enabling us to better serve our customers and growers, and further strengthen our presence in the pet food industry,” said Everett Jordan, director of operation for Anchor Ingredients.
Founded in 2015, Anchor Ingredients operates six value-add processing plants across North Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana, and has sales offices in California and Minnesota.
The company is focused on food safety, quality control, and premium ingredient processing of pearled barley, peas, flaxseed, chickpeas, oat groats, ancient grains, organics, and other specialty crops for food and pet markets.
The company’s in-house processing capabilities include cleaning, milling, packaging, blending, and organics.
By combining a strong origination network and company-owned processing facilities, Anchor Ingredients has created one of the only true end-to-end ingredient supply chains in the specialty grain industry.
The company also provides that its customer-focused distribution capabilities include stringent quality assurance, a full in-house logistics team, and nationwide storage close to our customers’ manufacturing sites.
