SINGAPORE- Barry Callebaut Group’s board of directors has appointed Vamsi Mohan Thati as president of their Asia Pacific business, headquartered in Singapore, effective April 1, 2023.
Founded in 1996, the Barry Callebaut Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products, with an average annual production of 2.3 million tonnes of cocoa & chocolate, with the APAC region ranking 3rd in market share.
According to the Barry Callebaut website, the region’s headquarters have been in Singapore since 2014 and operates a chocolate factory on Senoko South Road in Singapore.
Today the company has more than 250 employees in Singapore, and its regional headquarters also houses its regional sales, supply chain management, and corporate functions teams.
According to a press release by the company, Vamsi is succeeding Jo Thys, who was the interim president and was appointed Chief Operations Officer as of January 1, 2023.
Vamsi has had an impressive career over time, having been President of Greater China and Mongolia for The Coca-Cola Company and President of Coca-Cola’s South Pacific Business Unit (Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands) since he joined the company in 1998.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, India, and has completed the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School,

Vamsi will also be a member of the Executive Committee.
