USA- Ceres Global Ag Corp, a prominent player in the agricultural sector, has announced the continuation and expansion of its partnership with Miller Milling, one of the largest wheat milling companies in the United States.
This collaboration began in 2023 and focused on promoting regenerative agricultural practices among North Dakota wheat farmers.
The announcement on September 5, 2024 highlighted both companies’ commitment to sustainable farming and supply chain efficiency.
The partnership aims to provide localized and scalable solutions for wheat farmers and encourage the adoption of advanced nutrient management strategies.
These practices enhance agronomic productivity and improve environmental outcomes, fostering a sustainable agricultural ecosystem.
Ceres CEO Carlos Paz emphasised the significance of this initiative, stating, “Our partnership with Miller Milling commenced in 2023 to bolster their regenerative agriculture efforts. Since its launch, we have witnessed substantial growth and are eager to further extend this collaboration in 2025.”
Miller Milling has reported impressive growth in the program, increasing the enrolled acreage from 4,500 acres with five growers to 16,800 acres with 15 growers.
This significant growth is a testament to farmers’ increasing interest in adopting sustainable practices that benefit their operations and the environment.
Marty Moran, Senior Director of EHS & Sustainability at Miller, remarked, “Our dedication to sustainability has always been integral to Miller’s values, and we are excited to continue our partnership with Ceres to assist farmers in enhancing nitrogen efficiency and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.”
The collaboration between Ceres and Miller is designed to mitigate the risks associated with adopting new agricultural practices.
The program aims to create a more resilient supply chain by fostering direct connections between farmers and flour millers. “Our initiative mitigates the risks associated with new practices for farmers and strengthens the links between growers and flour millers,” Paz added.
This approach supports farmers and ensures a steady supply of sustainably grown wheat to Miller’s extensive network of flour mills.
Ceres employs a hands-on methodology in its regenerative agriculture program, engaging directly in the fields or through joint ventures and external partners.
This active involvement allows Ceres to tailor its solutions to farmers’ specific needs, promoting sustainable farming practices that optimize nutrient efficiency.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy to empower clients and enhance the overall effectiveness of the agricultural supply chain.
Ceres Global Ag Corp is headquartered in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and operates 11 facilities across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Minnesota.
The company also holds interests in several agricultural joint ventures, which further enhance its capacity to support sustainable agriculture.
As the partnership progresses, Ceres and Miller are unwavering in their commitment to advancing their shared vision of a more efficient and environmentally friendly agricultural sector. This commitment ensures the partnership’s sustainability and long-term success.
