NETHERLANDS – Nutreco, a global leader in animal nutrition, has announced a significant transition in its leadership as CEO Fulco van Lede steps down from his position after three years of service.
Expressing his sentiments, Fulco van Lede remarked, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nutreco… It’s been a privilege to work alongside Nutreco’s passionate team as we tackle the challenge of sustainably feeding an ever-growing population.”
Van Lede, who has been part of the SHV Holdings team for two decades, noted that it was his personal decision to step down as CEO.
Effective June 1, 2024, David Blakemore will succeed van Lede as CEO. Blakemore, who joined Nutreco in 2022 as CEO of Trouw Nutrition, brings over 30 years of experience in customer relations, commercial strategies, and innovation.
He expressed his honor in leading Nutreco, emphasizing the company’s commitment to “Feeding the Future” and driving growth in the next phase.
Jeroen Drost, CEO of SHV, expressed appreciation for van Lede’s contributions and confidence in Blakemore’s capabilities.
“David’s experience in the industry and knowledge of the company makes him an excellent successor and the right leader to take the company forward to its next phase of growth,” stated Drost.
Therese Log Bergjord steps down too
Alongside van Lede, Therese Log Bergjord, CEO of Skretting, Nutreco’s aquaculture business line, will also be departing this summer.
Commenting on Therese’s decision to step down, Fulco van Lede extended his gratitude to Bergjord for her significant contributions to Skretting’s success in sustainable aquaculture.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Skretting and as part of the Nutreco leadership team. We’ve achieved so much and I will continue to champion sustainable aquaculture even as I move onto my next opportunity,” Therese reflects.
According to a press release by the company, it is Therese’s personal decision to leave the company and she will be succeeded by Bastiaan van Tilburg, currently Managing Director for Trouw Nutrition Europe and Central Asia.
Bergjord will be succeeded by Bastiaan van Tilburg, currently the Managing Director for Trouw Nutrition Europe and Central Asia.
Meanwhile, Eduardo Lopes Alberto, Vice President of Global Innovation for Trouw Nutrition, will assume the role of CEO following David Blakemore’s transition.
