USA- The Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (ADM), a global leader in human and animal nutrition, has announced the appointment of Ian Pinner as Senior Vice President, President, Nutrition, and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.

Pinner will succeed Vince Macciocchi, who is set to retire from ADM at the end of this year.

Juan Luciano, Chair of the Board and CEO of ADM, expressed confidence in Pinner’s ability to lead the Nutrition business.

Ian is a natural fit to step into this important role and continue driving the exciting continued growth of our Nutrition business. He has had a successful 24-year career at ADM leading significant P&Ls across multiple businesses and geographies, including the early stages of our Health & Wellness business. And importantly, Ian leads with a customer-first mindset – at the core of our nutrition business’ success,” he stated.

Pinner, who joined ADM in 1999, has held various senior leadership positions. His most recent role was Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, leading ADM’s strategy, business development, and M&A efforts.

Pinner also played a key role in developing the company’s growth innovation platforms, contributing significantly to the advancement of ADM’s nutrition business strategy and innovation.

His diverse experience at ADM includes roles such as Chief Growth Officer, President of Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand, President of Global Destination Marketing, President of Global Cocoa and Chocolate, Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Financial Planning and analysis, and President of ADM Grain, among others.

Vince has been a transformational leader for our company at a time when ADM was undergoing the most significant evolution in its 122-year history, and we would not be in an industry-leading position without his knowledge, passion, and deep customer relationships,” Luciano commented, acknowledging Vince Macciocchi’s transformative leadership during a pivotal period in ADM’s history.

The appointment of Ian Pinner is effective immediately, and Macciocchi will support Pinner during the transition through year-end. As ADM continues its journey in the nutrition sector, Pinner’s extensive experience and customer-centric approach should contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the company’s nutrition business.

This appointment follows the promotion of Dermot O’Grady to senior vice president of global operations, succeeding Veronica Braker, who joined global agribusiness in March 2019.

For the past four years, O’Grady led ADM’s Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) regional operations, based in Rolle, Switzerland.

He also has held operations management positions with EU oilseeds and South America. He began his career at ADM as a soy protein concentrate superintendent.
