CANADA- Effective February 1, 2024, Dr. Mathieu Castex, Ph.D., will take the reins as President and General Manager of Lallemand Animal Nutrition, succeeding Dr. Yang Le Treut, DVM.
Dr. Castex, who has been serving as the Director of Research and development for the company since 2014, brings a wealth of scientific expertise and a strong background in microbiology and animal breeding to his new role.
Dr. Le Treut, who successfully led Lallemand Animal Nutrition since 2012, will facilitate a seamless transition by assuming the position of Senior Vice President & Special Advisor at the Lallemand Group level.
In this capacity, he will offer support to Lallemand Animal Nutrition’s management team and assist in the leadership transition over the coming years.
Bill Nankervis, Executive VP and COO of the Lallemand Group, expressed confidence in Dr. Castex’s ability to lead the Animal Nutrition business unit, citing his strong scientific background and commercial experience.

Acknowledging the achievements of Dr. Le Treut over the past decade, Nankervis added, “His product management and commercial experience make him an excellent choice to build on the success Yannig achieved over the past decade leading the Lallemand Animal Nutrition team.”
In response to his appointment, Dr. Castex expressed his delight in continuing to contribute his passion for microbiology, animals, and animal breeding to the Animal Nutrition business unit.
He stated, “I am honoured to be entrusted with succeeding Yannig in leading this remarkable team and business, which he played an integral role in establishing and strengthening.”
Dr. Castex is optimistic about the future of Lallemand Animal Nutrition, emphasizing the winning formula of specialized teams, science-based products, innovation, and dedication to customer satisfaction.
His journey with Lallemand Animal Nutrition began in 2009 when he joined as the product manager leading the yeast derivatives and aquaculture portfolio. A graduate of AgroParisTech in Paris, France, Dr. Castex holds a doctoral degree in microbiology and physiology of nutrition.
With his extensive background in research and development, product management, and business development within the animal nutrition and health sector, Dr. Castex is poised to lead Lallemand Animal Nutrition into a new era of growth and success.
