USA- Mission MightyMe, a brand dedicated to combating food allergies in children, has successfully raised US$2.35 million in funding to support its mission.
The company is set to debut its innovative product, Nutty Puffs, in select Target stores across the nation on August 25, 2024.
This marks a significant step for Mission MightyMe as it expands into brick-and-mortar retail for the first time, aiming to enhance accessibility for families looking to introduce nuts into their babies’ diets.
Founded by parents of children with food allergies, including social entrepreneurs Catherine and JJ Jaxon, Todd Slotkin, and renowned pediatrician Dr. Gideon Lack, Mission MightyMe is built on the belief that early exposure to allergens can prevent allergies from developing.
Dr. Lack’s pivotal research, known as the Learning Early About Peanut Allergy Study (LEAP), demonstrated that regular consumption of peanuts can significantly reduce the risk of developing peanut allergies.
This groundbreaking study has influenced pediatric feeding guidelines worldwide, encouraging parents to introduce peanuts and other common allergens to their children as early as possible.
Nutty Puffs are designed to align with these recommendations. Made from over 50% nuts, these snacks are crafted with simple, organic, and non-GMO ingredients, ensuring that they are free from artificial flavors, palm oil, and cane sugar.
The product is unique in that it is the first and only baby-friendly puff that contains sufficient quantities of peanuts and various tree nuts. Each batch of Nutty Puffs has also received the Clean Label Project Purity Award, which tests for over 200 contaminants, including heavy metals and toxins, ensuring the highest safety standards for children.
The launch of Nutty Puffs in Target stores is expected to facilitate greater brand discovery among families.
“We are excited to partner with Target to make Nutty Puffs more accessible to parents who want to follow pediatric recommendations for early allergen introduction,” said co-founder JJ Jaxon.
This partnership is anticipated to make it easier for families to incorporate nuts into their children’s diets, addressing the growing concern over food allergies.
Parents have already begun to express their enthusiasm for Nutty Puffs. One satisfied customer shared, “I have an older child with a peanut allergy, so I’ve found this product is an easy way to keep my younger kids regularly exposed to peanuts without worrying about my older child getting into them.”
Another parent noted, “These puffs are IDEAL! Amazing taste, texture, and most of all – helping me to prevent what is a life-altering allergy to have to contend with.”
As Mission MightyMe prepares for its retail debut, the company is focused on its goal of making early allergen introduction both safe and enjoyable for families.
By providing a convenient and tasty option for introducing nuts, Mission MightyMe aims to alleviate the anxiety many parents feel about food allergies.
The upcoming launch at Target represents a significant opportunity for the brand to reach a broader audience, helping to foster a new generation of children who can enjoy the nutritional benefits of nuts without the fear of allergies.
