CAMEROON – Mühlenchemie, a global leader in flour improvement, is set to host a two-day workshop in Cameroon on October 16th and 17th, focusing on the milling industry and the specific challenges faced by flour millers in Central Africa.

Themed “Opportunities and Practical Solutions for Regional Challenges,” the event aims to bring together industry leaders, stakeholders, and flour milling experts to share knowledge and insights, while presenting innovative solutions to enhance flour quality and efficiency across the region.

The workshop’s agenda is built around practical solutions for the unique challenges faced by Central Africa’s milling industry.

Attendees will be introduced to the “ABC of Flour,” a comprehensive approach that covers everything from flour’s aroma to baguette-making processes, and more critically, the growing importance of composite flours.

Mühlenchemie’s expertise in flour improvement will be at the forefront, with sessions covering the latest developments in flour fortification and enhancers.

These flour improvers are vital to extending the shelf life, improving the texture, and enhancing the overall baking quality of the flour, helping millers meet the specific demands of local consumers. Moreover, the workshop will highlight the use of these improvers in pasta production, a staple food in the region.

In addition to flour quality, the workshop will emphasize the need for improved efficiency in milling operations.

Mühlenchemie has teamed up with renowned global equipment and technology providers to ensure that the workshop offers a holistic view of the flour milling industry.

Bühler Group, a world leader in milling technology, will provide insights into the latest advancements in milling machinery, which are designed to optimize energy use, reduce downtime, and improve overall milling efficiency.

Additionally, KPM Analytics and Anton Paar Southern Africa will bring their expertise in flour testing and analysis, offering tools to ensure that flour meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.

According to Mühlenchemie, this workshop is not just about technical know-how but also practical, hands-on training that will enable participants to apply innovative solutions directly in their milling facilities.

“We are excited to engage with our customers and partners in the region. Our goal is to help mills in Central Africa enhance their product quality and efficiency, ultimately ensuring food security and meeting market demands,” said a Mühlenchemie representative.
