GHANA – In a resounding triumph for Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, a joint venture between Olam and Sanyo Foods, has been unequivocally endorsed for renewal of its safety and quality protocols by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Following the recent renewal of the FSSC 22000 certification for both its Biscuit and Culinary operations, Nutrifoods continues to stand at the forefront of global best practices in the food industry.
Nutrifoods Ghana initially grabbed the industry spotlight in 2016 as it proudly became the recipient of West Africa’s first-ever FSSC 22000 certification, a distinction that not only elevated the company but also signaled its unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
The FSSC 22000 certification, a global food safety benchmark, not only enjoys international recognition but also provides a universal language for ensuring food safety across the entire supply chain.
The rigorous certification process, overseen by the GFSI, involves benchmarking various food safety standards against a stringent set of criteria. Nutrifoods’ steadfast dedication to quality and safety has consistently met and exceeded these criteria, earning the company global acclaim.
Amitabh Coomar, the Business Head for Nutrifoods Ghana, emphasized the tangible impact of FSSC 22000 implementation on the company’s operations.
“The implementation of FSSC 22000 has had a significant impact on processes, documentation, and communication within our factories. This has resulted in increased operational efficiency and has also helped us to save costs,” Coomar stated.
Nutrifoods Ghana’s commitment to excellence is further underscored by its successful navigation of surveillance audits year after year, showcasing a continuous commitment to improvement.
Mr. Coomar expressed pride in the team’s achievement, highlighting the constant dedication to a culture of safety within the workplace.
The company recently expanded its line of biscuits with the launch of new cookie varieties. The introduction of the Perk Danish Cookies, a delectable fusion of butter cookies, choco butter, chocolate chip, and coconut cookies, follows substantial investments in systems and production line upgrades.
This latest certification renewal and product expansion solidify Nutrifoods Ghana’s position as a trailblazer in the global food industry.
