USA – Seaboard Foods, a division of Seaboard Corp., recently promoted Chad Groves to President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2024, replacing Peter Brown, who has retired after a notable tenure.

Seaboard Foods had announced their intention to appoint Groves as CEO in March of this year, providing that he would head the company’s pork segment, having served as a member of the board of directors and treasurer for the National Pork Board.

Chad Groves has been with Seaboard Foods for three years, initially joining in July 2021 as the senior vice president of global sales, marketing, and innovation.

He led retail, food service, export, and processor sales efforts in this role and oversaw the marketing, innovation, communications, and sustainability teams.

Before his tenure at Seaboard, Groves held leadership positions at Trilliant Food & Nutrition LLC and High Liner Foods.

Groves holds a bachelor’s degree in selling and sales management from Purdue University and a master’s in business management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Groves said, “I’m excited to lead Seaboard Foods, and my focus will remain committed to bringing excellence to the table and finding innovative ways to add value to our connected food system. We will be unwavering in our commitment to meeting customer expectations, delivering quality products, and providing exceptional customer service, making our Prairie Fresh brand and the Daily’s brand the top choice for customers and consumers worldwide.

The promotion of Groves marks a new chapter for Seaboard Foods, which continues to build on its legacy of quality and innovation in the food industry.

During the announcement of this appointment in March, Bob Steer, president and CEO of Seaboard Corporation, extended well wishes to Peter Brown for his impending retirement, highlighting his pivotal role in the company’s success.

Peter was a key leader on Seaboard’s executive management team, and we wish him all the best in his upcoming retirement,” said Bob Steer.
