SWITZERLAND – Marco Gadola has joined Bühler Group’s Board of Directors after a unanimous endorsement by shareholders during the recently concluded annual general election.

According to a statement from the Swiss technology group, Konrad Hummler exited from the Board at the same meeting, after more than 12 years of service.

Marco Gadola (59), is a Swiss and French national with a vast experience in business administration having held various executive positions in various major firms.

“With his appointment, Bühler’s Board is gaining an accomplished and proven executive with nearly three decades of experience in the tools, medical, and logistics fields,” said Calvin Grieder, Chairman of the Board of Bühler

Gadola started his career in banking and later worked at Swiss multinational pharmaceutical corporation Novartis International Ltd as Audit Manager.

 From 1992, he spent nine years at Hilti Group in senior commercial, sales, and finance positions working in Liechtenstein, the United States, Spain, and Germany.

After five years as CFO at the Hero Group, he joined Straumann Group, Basel, as CFO and VP of Operations. In 2008, he was appointed CFO at Panalpina Group, Basel. From 2013 to 2019 he served as CEO of Straumann Group, a Swiss listed company with revenues exceeding CHF 2 billion.

Marco Gadola serves as President of the Board of Directors of  various corporate entities including DKSH, WS Audiology, and Medartis Holding AG.

He is also a Vice President of the Board of Directors of MCH Group AG, and a Member of the Board of Directors of Straumann Group.

Marco Gadola holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Basel, Switzerland.

In his statement, Calvin also commended exiting board member Hummer for his great contribution while on the board and wished him well in his next endeavors.
