NORWAY – Skretting has officially welcomed Bastiaan van Tilburg as its new CEO, succeeding Therese Log Bergjord, who had served as SKretting’s CEO since 2017.

Previously, Bastiaan served as the Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia at Skretting’s sister company, Trouw Nutrition.

According to a release by the company, Bastiaan brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to Skretting and the broader aquaculture industry. His career is marked by a strong commitment to sustainable growth through innovation.

Before joining Nutreco five and a half years ago, Bastiaan held various commercial and operational leadership roles at Makro, an SHV daughter company in Brazil. He also spent four years in significant positions at Royal Dutch Shell.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Bastiaan stated, I am very excited to join the world-class team at Skretting. Over the past weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many talented and experienced people, visit our amazing innovation facilities in Norway, and learn from our customers about the biggest challenges they face today. It’s my ambition to build on the strong foundations laid by Therese Log Bergjord, to make an even bigger impact in helping our customers solve those challenges.”

Reflecting on Skretting’s achievements and future goals, Bastiaan expressed his desire to contribute more than 40 million healthy seafood meals to match the projected population of 10 billion by 2050 while significantly reducing the company’s footprint.

This will be substantially higher than the 26 million meals consumed every day around the globe in 2023.
