GERMANY- Symrise, a global leader in flavor and fragrance production, has announced the appointment of Jean-Yves Parisot as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Parisot will succeed Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, who is retiring after an illustrious 21-year tenure with the company.

Parisot, who has been with Symrise since 2014 and has been a member of the executive committee since 2016, will officially assume the CEO role on March 31.

He currently oversees the company’s Taste, Nutrition & Health segment and will continue to do so on an interim basis until a successor is appointed.

Having held prominent positions in renowned organizations such as Pfizer, Rhone Poulenc/Rhodia, Danisco, Air Liquide, and the Diana Group before joining Symrise, Parisot brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. 

Notably, he has been president of the International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI) since 2023.

Reflecting on his appointment, Parisot expressed confidence in Symrise’s strong foundations, emphasizing the company’s focus on strategic growth in challenging business environments. 

He conveyed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the supervisory board and affirmed his commitment to maintaining Symrise’s position as a global leader in the industry.

Meanwhile, outgoing CEO Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, who has spent 19 years on the executive committee and 15 years as CEO, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead Symrise through significant periods of growth and transformation. 

Under his leadership, Symrise expanded its portfolio through strategic acquisitions and achieved consistent organic growth.

Michael König, chairman of Symrise’s supervisory board, commended Bertram for his instrumental role in shaping the company’s success and ensuring its resilience. 

He expressed confidence in Parisot’s ability to lead Symrise into the future, highlighting the smooth transition facilitated by the board’s decision to renew Parisot’s contract for an additional four years.

With Parisot at the helm, Symrise aims to sustain its momentum and uphold its commitment to delivering value to clients, employees, shareholders, and stakeholders worldwide.
