SOUTH AFRICA – Tiger Brands, a prominent player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, has unveiled its new leadership team, with several managing directors appointed to spearhead its six restructured business units.

Under the company’s streamlined organizational framework, these units, namely Bakeries, Grains, Culinary, Snacks, Treats & Beverages, Home and Personal Care (HPC) & Baby, and Tiger Brands International, will report directly to the CEO.

Quinton Swart, a professional with a 20-year career, will assume the role of managing director for the Bakeries unit.

With a background in performance turnaround and extensive expertise in finance, strategy, manufacturing, and marketing, Swart’s leadership will be instrumental in steering specialized business teams in South Africa and the rest of Africa.

His notable achievements include executive oversight of multiple business units within Nampak, as well as successful roles at Sasol.

Liezel Holmes, appointed managing director for Grains, will bring two decades of experience at Tiger Brands, specializing in marketing, customer management, and cross-functional team leadership.

Holmes played a pivotal role in enhancing the business trajectory of the Home and Personal Care and Baby category, showcasing her ability to navigate complex business landscapes and drive growth through innovation.

Dumo Mfini, returning as managing director for Culinary, previously served as acting managing director in 2022.

His contributions to the sustainable growth of the business cluster have been recognized, particularly in the successful recovery of Tiger Brands’ Enterprise Food division. Mfini is also acknowledged for his dedication to developing young talent within the organization.

Grant Pereira, the newly appointed managing director for Snacks & Treats and Beverages, brings extensive experience in multi-brand, multi-product innovations.

With a successful track record at The South African Breweries and Anheuser-Busch InBev Africa, Pereira has led impactful marketing strategies on a national and international scale.

His recent achievements include growing market share for Maynards and Jungle Energy Bars at Tiger Brands.

Ismail Nanabhay takes on the role of managing director for Home and Personal Care (HPC) and Baby.

With a career spanning 29 years and previous roles at Coca-Cola, BP, and Castrol, Nanabhay’s innovative vision and leadership have contributed to the solid growth of Tiger Brands’ Beverages category.

Polycarp Igathe, a seasoned business executive, assumes the role of managing director for Tiger Brands International (TBI).

With 28 years of experience across various industries, Igathe’s comprehensive insight into the competitive sub-Saharan Africa trading environment positions him well to lead the international division.

Tjaart Kruger, Tiger Brands CEO, expressed confidence in the new leadership team, emphasizing their internal promotion, credible leadership experience, and track record of excellence in the FMCG sector.

He emphasized the importance of refocusing the portfolio, removing complexity, and restoring cost leadership to ensure the continued relevance of Tiger Brands’ iconic brands to consumers.
