KENYA – Tunga Nutrition (K)-LTD-Skretting EA, a leading Fish feeds Manufacturer in East Africa has launched a state-of-the-art fish feed extruder in its production facility in Nairobi as it commits to serving the aqua market diligently and efficiently.

“Today, we launch this game changer, a state-of-the-art fish feed extruder. Now, more than ever, Tunga Nutrition is committed to serving this market diligently and efficiently, with a new production capacity of 4 tones an hour” the LinkedIn post read.
According to the announcement, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, H.E Salim Mvurya EGH graced the launching ceremony at its facility in Nairobi Kenya.
Founded in 2022, the East African aqua feeds giant is a partnership that involves open-ended, Skretting-managed joint ventures with two indirect subsidies of Unga Group. It produces and distributes fish feeds under the Skretting and Fugo Brands.
During the partnership, East Africa’s animal nutrition giant Unga Farm Care (EA) Limited and the Global Animal Nutrition powerhouse Nutreco International BV entered a joint venture giving birth to Tunga Nutrition-the Aqua Nutrition Solution provider.
According to Tunga, since the adoption of commercial aquaculture in East Africa, quality fish feeds have been one of the major challenges to farmers and investors.
Therefore, the launch of the fish feed extruder is a game changer as they set to deliver on their promises to fish farmers and boost the entire aquaculture industry through an initiative dubbed ‘feeding the future.’
The celebrated milestone comes two months after the company was awarded the Best Fish Farmer Competition Winners of the year 2023 from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Larrive International, and the Lattice Aqua initiative.
Accepting the Award, Tunga said that they deserved the honor to celebrate their unending support to their farmers by providing feed and technical support among other advantages all with the aim of Feeding the Future.
“The race was tight, with hundreds of applications but the best made it through. We thank them for the Initiative and for seeing this through”.
