UK—UK Flour Millers, the trade body representing the flour milling industry in the UK and Ireland, has introduced a range of sample materials for its Distance Learning Programme to enhance education and professional development within the flour milling industry.
According to the body, it has made resources available from each of the seven modules included in its Distance Learning Programme. Hence, employees and industry players can now access these samples online, providing a preview of the comprehensive training offered by the association.
This initiative aims to attract prospective students for the 2024-2025 course year, which commences on September 1, 2024.
The initiative is part of the enhanced 2024-25 course year, set to begin on Sept. 1, with a new, user-friendly online registration page.
“We’re excited to offer this preview into our Distance Learning Program,” said Steve Faerber, training manager for UK Flour Millers.
“It’s a great way for potential students or students enrolling in another module to understand the value and breadth of our training program before selecting a module. Everyone should take advantage of this opportunity,” he added.
UK Flour Millers has a long-standing history of providing high-quality training and development for the flour milling industry. By offering these sample materials, the association aims to demonstrate the depth and quality of their training, ensuring that industry professionals are well-equipped with the skills needed for their roles.
The Distance Learning Programme features a revamped curriculum and an immersive Virtual Mill experience tailored to meet the needs of modern flour milling professionals.
However, the programme is also open to employees in various roles within the flour milling sector, such as engineering, sales, and health and safety, as well as other related industries including fuel, baking, and packaging.
The body supports its members by ensuring a reliable, sustainable, and affordable supply of wheat, offering training, promoting health and safety practices, advocating for the industry, and supporting research and development.
Additionally, the organization represents its members to the government, policymakers, the media, consumers, and other stakeholders.
Flour millers, employees working in other positions at flour mills like engineering, sales, health and safety, and beyond, and other industry players like those working in fuel, baking, and packaging, are encouraged to view the sample resources, download the Distance Learning Program course guide for more information, and register for a module before Aug. 12.
