UK – The UK Flour Millers has unveiled a redesigned and enhanced version of its FAB Flour website, aimed at revolutionizing the home baking experience for enthusiasts across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The revamped site features a sleek, user-friendly design, introducing a host of new tools and resources to make baking and cooking both accessible and enjoyable.
As the trade association representing flour millers, UK Flour Millers has established FAB Flour as a trusted resource for home chefs and the broader food industry.
The updated website now includes innovative tools such as pre-set baking timers, easy conversion charts, and an editable serving size calculator. These features are designed to simplify the baking process and cater to a diverse audience, from beginners to seasoned cooks.
Alistair Gale, Chief Executive of UK Flour Millers, emphasized the website’s enhanced functionality:
“The new FAB Flour website is a vital tool for home bakers, with a variety of recipes that make cooking both fun and educational. Our goal with this major refresh has been to enhance the home baking experience with an array of new features; we’re making it easier for everyone to enjoy their time in the kitchen.”
The updated FAB Flour website not only offers an improved interface for easier navigation but also provides a wealth of resources, including streamlined access to recipes, baking tips, and flour-related information.
The site continues to emphasize the critical role of flour in our diets, showcasing its contribution to 20% of people’s daily energy intake and its presence in approximately 30% of all foods found in UK supermarkets.
With flour being a staple ingredient, used daily to produce 12 million loaves of bread, 5 million packets of biscuits, 4.5 million cakes and buns, and 2 million pizzas, the new website highlights its importance and offers easy access to recipes for these and other baked goods.
The redesign also retains and reorganizes the essential facts about flour that have been a hallmark of FAB Flour since its inception in 1956. This ensures that users can continue to benefit from the educational content while exploring new culinary possibilities.
In addition to the website launch, UK Flour Millers has also announced plans to integrate interactive cooking classes and virtual baking sessions later this year, further enhancing the site’s appeal and utility for home bakers.
Recently, the body introduced a range of sample materials for its Distance Learning Programme to enhance education and professional development within the flour milling industry.
According to the body, resources from each of the seven modules included in its Distance Learning Programme have been made available online. Hence, employees and industry players can now access these samples, providing a preview of the comprehensive training offered by the association.
This initiative aimed to attract prospective students for the 2024-2025 course year, poised to commence on September 1, 2024.
The new FAB Flour website is now live, promising an enriched user experience and reinforcing its position as an indispensable resource for anyone interested in baking and flour education.
