TANZANIA – Yara Tanzania is set to introduce top-of-the-range animal feed formula, as the international fertilizer manufacturer bets to raise livestock productivity in the country.

Winstone Odhiambo, Yara Tanzania managing director revealed this while recalling the just-ended Africa Food System Forum held in Dar es Salaam from September 4-8,2023.

According to Mr. Odhiambo, the launch of the Yara animal nutrition products will take place in the Iringa region on September 9, 2023.

During the launch, Odhiambo added, the company will expound on the range of products, its advantages over other traditional animal feeds, and its promise to livestock farmers and other partnerships in the line of business.

Mr. Odhiambo noted that the planned lunch of animal nutrition in Tanzania demonstrated Yara’s commitment to supporting the livestock sector as well as raising the fortunes of millions of livestock farmers.

He added that Yara International produces top-quality animal nutrition products that we will be introducing, for the first time, in the Tanzanian market.

We are excited about this new journey and look forward to working closely with livestock and poultry farmers to improve the quantity and quality of milk and beef production in Tanzania,” Mr. Odhiambo said.

According to Othiambo, the planned launch coming in the wake of AGRF demonstrates Yara’s commitment to implementing the desired outcomes of the forum.

One of the themes of the AGRF meeting required stakeholders to take urgent action to address climate change, food waste, and food insecurity before 2030.

Yara, therefore, is taking the front in working together with stakeholders to develop bold policies and programs that support sustainable, resilient, and inclusive food systems.

During the AGRF meeting, Yara showcased its new ambition “Growing a Nature Positive Food Future”, with prosperity, regenerative agriculture, and climate neutrality as its mission. The introduction of animal nutrition is therefore a commitment by Yara to bring prosperity to millions of livestock keepers throughout the republic.” Mr. Odhiambo noted.

According to Odhiambo, Tanzania will only be the third country in Africa to introduce animal nutrition from Yara coming after South Africa and recently Kenya.

With a presence globally, Yara animal nutrition products have been in use in the West where they have contributed significantly to the high standards of the multimillion-dollar livestock production industry.

Yara Tanzania first hinted at the new line of products coming to the local market during a recent goat race charity event organized by the ROTARY Club of Oysterbay in Dar es Salaam.

During the charity event, Dr. Peter Mukua, a Yara sales nutritionist said that the Yara line of animal nutrition products promises top quality and partnerships that are the core stone of Yara knowledge services.
